The sophomore culinary arts students are set to transform their classroom knowledge into mouthwatering creations as they prepare to open their very own Bistro on Friday, Sept. 27.
The purpose behind the Bistro is to replicate the industry, showcase skills and inspire creativity. This unique event provides the general student body with a student-led dining experience, emphasizing hospitality and great food.
Chef David Miller oversees the operation, which is designed to enhance his students’ confidence and prepare them for their future careers.
The menu offers a diverse selection of Italian, Mexican and Southern-style favorites. The prices range from $5 to $11 in the efforts to make this experience as affordable as possible. The Bistro will be open every Wednesday and Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. until Nov. 15. This event will take place in the Culinary Arts building on the south side of campus, next to Bob Jones Academy.
In addition to the Bistro, the culinary arts program will feature other events throughout the school year.
