Art, design and photography commencement exhibition
April 15 to May 3, Sargent Art Building
The annual Art, Design and Photography Commencement Exhibition will be in the Sargent Art Building from Monday, April 15, through Friday, May 3.
The categories in the contest include 2-D and 3-D studio art; graphic design; apparel, textile and design; interior design and photography. Chairman of the Division of Art and Design, Mr. Jay Bopp, said that although any student may enter an art or photography piece, not everyone’s work will be displayed in the exhibition. Photography faculty member in the Division of Communication Mrs. Rebekah Mininger said 139 photographs were submitted last year, and 50 were chosen to be displayed in the exhibit.
After the initial jurying, art and photography faculty members will choose the winners in each category. Bopp said first-place winners in each category will receive a medal that they can wear at their graduation.
