This Friday, Jan. 31, the Interior Architecture and Design Senior Exhibition opens at 6:30 p.m. in the Sargent Art Building. The exhibition is overseen by Mrs. Laurilyn Hall, the head of the department. The 13 students participating in the exhibition are all senior Interior Architecture and Design majors. They are required to present their work at the event as their capstone project.
Five of the seniors competed in an International Design Association competition for a re-designing project through Riipen, an online platform that works with BJU to raise the level of experiential learning available to students. Riipen connected the competing students with a client who was looking to update their family diner in Ontario, Canada. The five BJU students are eligible to receive cash prizes if they win. In addition to the pieces entered in this competition, the exhibition will display other classwork projects the students completed throughout their time in the program.
This show helps students as an opportunity for potential employers to view their work. It is also a time for the students to celebrate their accomplishments with friends and family. This type of show provides many networking opportunities. Its organization also allows the students to develop invaluable skills such as teamwork, planning and management.
The community is invited to support these students as they demonstrate their student portfolios. The Interior Architecture and Design students who worked hard in their educational endeavors would love to see others join in appreciating their efforts.
