For students trying to study, going to a coffee shop can often help with focus. Sometimes, getting off campus is key to maximum brain power. Described below are some of the best coffee shops within 10 minutes or less of campus.
Bridge City Coffee
1520 Wade Hampton Blvd. | Greenville, SC 29609
First on the list is Bridge City Coffee. Bridge City is a three-minute drive, but on sunny days, it would be a great ten-minute walk. Plus, their coffee is relatively inexpensive. They sell a latte for under $5 and their special drinks for under $6. The special drinks rotate out every couple of months. There are plenty of study spaces and even a student discount.
Sunflower
728 Wade Hampton Blvd. | Greenville, SC 29609
The next option is Sunflower, five minutes from campus. The Sunflower sells sandwiches, fresh baked goods, breakfast burritos and coffee. Patrons could buy warm apple cider or lattes for under $5. The atmosphere is active and inviting, with seating all along the wall.
Methodical Coffee
207 Wade Hampton Blvd. | Greenville, SC 29609
Methodical Coffee is seven minutes from campus. Their coffee is a little higher priced than the previously mentioned hot spots, but not by much. A latte can be purchased for $5 and a specialty drink for under $6.
The coffee shops above are walking distance from campus, but the next three are located in Downtown Greenville. They are about 10 minutes away by car. The closest garage is Richardson Street Garage. Parking is inexpensive, and the walk is short.
Tselia Coffee
219 N Main St. | Greenville, SC 29601

Tselia Coffee is made for the girls, and it is pricier than the others. Their coffees tend to sit right around the $6 range. They also serve kombucha, which is not something most coffee shops can brag. The study space has a pleasing aesthetic with vines and pink flowers hanging on the walls. Part of the atmosphere is curated by a pink faux tree in the front next to the door.
Coffee Underground
1 E Coffee St. | Greenville, SC 29601
Coffee Underground is perhaps the most well-known local coffee shop in Greenville. Their shop is beneath street level on Coffee Street, hence the name. They sell coffee, local art and a large variety of desserts and pastries. They have plenty of seating, using booths, tables and couches. The overall vibe is dark.
Flying Fox
14 S Main St. | Greenville, SC 29601
The final coffee shop is Flying Fox, more of an honorable mention. While there is a location in downtown Greer, the downtown Greenville location has limited seating. They are located next to an art gallery down below street level. Their coffee is inexpensive. A stand-out specialty drink is the Broken Record Latte, flavored by spices with rich, warm undertones.
Next time campus feels too small, definitely give one of these a try!
