Last week, Dr. Bob Jones III, former president and current chancellor of Bob Jones University, gave his wholehearted support to South Carolina Attorney Gen. Alan Wilson in his campaign for governor.
Mr. Wilson is known for being a strong defender for religious freedom. His campaign is built on family, life, faith and other traditional American values.

This is noted in Dr. Bob’s endorsement where he says, “It’s clear to me that Alan Wilson is the most pro-life candidate and is the proven defender of religious freedom. As governor, he will relentlessly defend our traditional values. His record is proven, strong, and with him as South Carolina’s next governor, our future is bright.”
Dr. Bob also added a challenge within his endorsement, calling fellow conservatives to hear the strength behind his words and to cast their votes in a similar fashion.
“I am deeply grateful for Dr. Bob Jones III’s endorsement,” Wilson said in a statement announcing the endorsement. “His lifelong dedication to Christian education and spiritual leadership has impacted generations. I am honored by his support as we work to lead South Carolina with faith, courage and humility.”
Wilson shared on social media his appreciation for Dr. Bob’s endorsement.
Wilson is in a five-person race to become the Republican nominee for governor. Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette, State Sen. Josh Kimbrell, U.S. Rep. Nancy Mace and U.S. Rep. Ralph Norman are also running for the GOP nomination.
On Jan. 17, Mr. Wilson and his running mate, state Sen. Mike Reichenbach, visited BJU during the Bruins rivalry games against Pensacola Christian College.
