Birmingham, Alabama: Michelle Shepherd, a 36-year old Alabama fan, was shot and killed last Saturday in a murder sparked by rage over Alabama’s loss to in-state rival Auburn. “[The killer] said we weren’t real Alabama fans because it didn’t bother us that they lost. And then she started shooting,” Michelle’s sister told the Associated Press. Adrian Briskey has been charged with the murder, and the police are investigating whether alcohol was involved.
Los Angeles, California: The USC Trojans hired Steve Sarkisian as their new head coach, replacing interim Ed Orgeron. Orgeron, reportedly upset over the move, has announced his resignation prior to the Trojan’s bowl game.
